Lake nakuru national park is a wetland ecosystem with some of the densest wildlife animals population in Kenya. Situated 165 km about two and a half hours drive , Nairobi –nakuru road gives the visitors an unrevealed view of the majestic great rift valley ,winding through a series of lakes and forested uplands all the way to the bustling market town of Nakuru.The views are equally impressive for the visitors all year round .
On the outskirts of nakuru lies truly remarkable national park which has achieved both local and international fame as an animal sanctuary .Both black and white rhinos are being given a new lease of life in this 188 square kilometer fully electrically fence park and they are carefully protected. The present rhino population in fifty three and they continue to multiply.
Rothschild giraffe is another unique and park has its fair share of buffalo, leopard, silver backed jackals, olive baboons , common zebras,impalas,antelopes, flamingoes both greater and lesser ,gazelles, sykes monkey, great white pelicans, avocets, hammerkorps, spotted hyenas, bat eared foxes, wild dog, zebra, eland, water buck and the territorial tree climbing lions.
