The only Luxury tented Camp in Queen Elizabeth National Park. It started in September 2006.
It is a Camp in the wilderness!! “Real adventure” Hippo hill Camp is in the buffer zone of Queen Elizabeth National Park-Katwe town. Just a drive through the Park to the Camp is quite impressive for the visitors.
Queen Elizabeth National Park has 95 mammal species and 606 bird species. It covers a total area of 2,056 sq km. its altitude is 910 m at Lake Edward to 1,390 m in crater area. Mean maximum temperature is 28 degrees C, and mean maximum is 18 degrees C.
The Camp welcomes you with the breathtaking scenery of the Park and soothing cool breeze from the lakes surrounding the Camp.
This is a must visit place! It is well built spectacularly on a hill overlooking Kitako and Kabazimu Islands. Surrounded by Lake Edward, Katwe salt Lake and Munyanyange crater Lakes with lot of flamingoes, Hippos, buffaloes among other animals. The extraordinary landscape of crater lakes was created by volcanic activities some 8000 to 10,000 years ago.

When you reach Bwindi, you just can not afford to miss the new look of the famous Lake Kitandara Bwindi Tented Camp.
The tented Camp opened in 1994. Lake Kitandara Camp is the best Camp for upper market visitors in Bwindi National Park. It has been modernised in an African style. It has unique tents which retain some original features but also have modern conveniences. "where adventure begins"

Location
It is adjacent to Bwindi Forest Impenetrable National Park overlooking the beautiful forest with primates.

A must is a trip to Bwindi National Park, a famous home for mountain gorillas.

The Park is situated in South Western Uganda on the edge of western lift valley (Albertine rift) It is 331 Square Kilometers in size and altitude range of 1,160 meters (Ishasha Gorge) to 2,607 meters (Rwamanyonyi Peak) The annual average temperature range is 7 degrees C to 20 degrees C with the coldest period being June and July.
It is a home to 326 gorillas almost half of the world's population of mountain gorillas. There are 346 species of birds and over 200 species of butterflies.
The major activities are gorilla tracking, Bird watching, Nature walks, Village walks and cultural performances.
The unique Luxury Camp for upper class visitors welcomes you with the breath taking scenery of the forest. It's a home away from home, very quite environment, you are only entertained by different melodies of birds. The atmosphere is very charming and friendly. If you are lucky you will get a surprise visit by the mountain gorillas!

The safari departs Nairobi in the morning and involves a drive down to the the floor of the Rift Valley, making a stop at view point to see the escarpment and the awesome sight of the valley and the features there in. To arrive Maasai Mara in time for lunch, followed by a late afternoon game drive that introduces you to Kenya’s most popular game sanctuary.

Departures:
Daily, minimum 2 persons.

 

Day 1. Nairobi/Maasai Mara
Depart Nairobi in the morning and drive to the floor of the Rift Valley – to Maasai Mara Game Reserve arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at either Mara Sopa Lodge or Sarova Mara Tented Camp.

Approx transit time: 5½ hrs

Spend the day in Maasai Mara, Kenya’s most popular game sanctuary where you will have the best opportunity of spotting the Big Five – lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant.

Game drives are flexible, with the option of going out with picnic lunch boxes to spend entire day in the the park, or you can choose to have early morning and late afternoon game drives. You will also have the option of  visiting a local Maasai village (US$30 per person).

All meals and overnight at the lodge or tented camp. Meal plan: {B, L, D}

Day 3. Maasai Mara/Nairobi
Another early morning game drive in Mara, then depart after breakfast and drive back to Nairobi arriving approx. 13:00hrs. Drop at your hotel or transfer to the airport for onward flight home.
