The open plains attract plenty of grazing game Including zebra, wildebeest, and impala. Cheetah are often seen here, either hunting on the plains or at rest in the undergrowth.Other attractions of the park include opportunities to meet the Masai who surround the Park in 6 distinct communally owned group ranches.The climate is mainly hot and dry. The maximum average temperature of the warmest month is 33°C during the day, while that of the coldest is 27-28 C.
The park has a single airstrip for light aircraft at Empusel gate. Other airstrips are at Kilimanjaro Buffalo lodge and Na manga town.The best time to visit Amboseli National Park is the dry season from January through April and June through October when vegetation is thin and animals congregate at the water holes making them easy to spot. The long rains are in April and May and short rains in November and December.
2 Days Amboseli Safari Itinerary
Day 1:
Nairobi - Amboseli National Park
We will pick you from your Nairobi Hotel or at the Aiport in the morning of day 1 in Kenya tour and drive south across the Athi Plains, home of the Masai, via the trading town of Namanga near the Tanzanian border and on to Amboseli., home to the legendary Maasai tribesmen and famous for huge herds of Elephant. Lunch at the lodge and later proceed for an evening game viewing drive in search of big game country: Lion, Cheetah antelope, Zebra, Wildebeest, buffalo and giraffe, with the best views of Africa's highest mountain, Kilimanjaro can be seen from all the lodges. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 2:
Amboseli National Park - Nairobi
After an early morning game drive followed by breakfast at the lodge, As your 2 nights Amboseli safari comes to an end we return by road to Nairobi. Arriving late in the evening and be dropped at the airport or your hotel .
